Cattlemen; Hope this letter finds everyone doing well and having a nice fall. On Dec. 3, 2011 at Billings Livestock Commission, I will be consigning 20+ females to the Montana Choice Simmental/SimAngus Sale. This sale is being sponsored by the Montana Simmental Assn. and being managed by Allied Genetic Resources. There promises to be over 100 open and bred females from top producers throughout the region. Many of the heifers will be show and youth project type of heifers. My consignments to this sale include: 4 bred heifers and 18 open heifers (2 chosen for the "Choice sale" and 16 in the group lot sale). We at Miller Simmental are 3 years into our new venture (Bulls of the Big Sky) and so far things are going well. The bulls were delivered to Manhattan on Oct. 1, 2011. There data will be posted on the web site for the group (www.bullsofthebigsky.com). As we get closer to sale time, the catalog will be available there also. You should be able to download and print. There were 280+ bulls weighed in, but a screening committee will cull some after the first 60 days, if they are not performing as expected. The bulls are still being fed at Veldkamp's in Manhatten, MT. Be sure and stop by and see them anytime you are in that area. Once again there is another good offering of RED bulls. As the winter goes along and weigh days are finished there will be all sorts of data and pictures and videos of the bulls at the web site. Be sure and call if you have questions. See you in Billings on Feb. 20. 2012 for the bull sale. If you can't make it, be sure and sign up and check out the sale on the internet through Billings Livestock web site. We will be taking internet bids during the sale. Please be looking for advertising on this upcoming top Simmental female offering and our Bulls of the Big Sky bull sale and plan on being in Billings for these sales. The state convention and annual meeting with fun and speakers is the night before on Friday, Dec. 2,2011 at the Crowne Plaza, so please join us for that great event, too. The pictures attached to this letter are the 3 entries I have in the Montana Choice part of the female sale. The calf at side (top of page) is a ½ blood calf out of a Purebred Dash cow and Purebred Red Angus bull (Shoco Data). The red bred heifer is a Remington Red Label heifer bred to WS Beef King for a Jan. 20, 2012 calving date. The black open heifer at bottom of page is a "Olie" calf. Sincerely, Dale & Paula Miller
